Ceracon adds the missing link

24 July 2018

CeraCon UK has now launched the missing link in their complete foam sealing solution package!

As the designers and manufacturers of their unique CeraFlow foam generation equipment, thermal oven systems and their integration into highquality robotic application cells, CeraCon has now developed and produces the foam material “CeraPUR” to be used in these systems. The PU based CeraPUR material comes in Black and White versions. It carries a UL approval and has already been approved to many OEM specifications across industry sectors.

CeraPUR can be thought of as a heat-curing liquid rubber that can be converted to a closed cell foam to create compression seals. However once bought, consumers can also use it in its natural unfoamed state, as a rapid cure adhesive, potting agent or even used as a moulding compound in open or closed moulds.

CeraPUR material cures at temperatures above 76°C, therefore providing excellent workability as no reaction occurs at ambient. Typically, we cure plastic components at 80°C in 2 to 7 mins.

Adjusting the level of entrained air in the material enables differing Shore 00 hardness to be achieved (from 30 - 80). Therefore this single part material - which requires no mixing or purging, has infinite opentime and produces very little waste. The material has already been sold to companies such as JLR and is heavily used in the lighting industry.

CeraCon now offers the independent purchase of this material in sizes of 20kg to 200kg.
