24 October 2014

The Ricoh Arena, Coventry became the centre of design engineering excellence on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd October as over 4,000 engineering professionals converged to attend the Engineering Design Show, the industry's only dedicated annual event. Visitors and exhibitors alike praised the show for its quality and content with most vowing to attend again next year.

Ed Tranter, executive director of organiser Findlay Media, said of the event: "When we launched the Show three years ago it was with the aim of providing a dedicated exhibition for the design engineering sector. The support we have received from the industry has been fantastic and enabled us to build a hugely successful event that we can all be very proud of. This year's Show has proved to be an absolute triumph and I want thank everyone involved for making it such a success."

This, the third running of the award-winning Engineering Design Show which was co-located with the Electronics Design Show provided visitors with the opportunity to see and discuss the latest advanced engineering techniques and technology from over 200 market-leading companies. Once again, the high level keynote conference sessions given by design leaders representing companies including Infiniti Red Bull Racing, Cambridge Consultants, Gurit, Mercedes AMG Petronas, Siemens, Rolls-Royce and Millbrook were all extremely well attended.

Over 30 practical workshops were also held at the event covering a broad range of topical issues, providing visitors with practical advice and showcasing the latest industry technology and solutions.

This year's Innovation Zone featured cutting edge products from Gurit, Williams Advanced Engineering, Renishaw, Rolls-Royce and Nylacast, plus interactive technology demonstrations by Innovation Zone sponsor, Cambridge Consultants. Other engineering focussed features at the show included a Formula Student demo, bf1systems interactive racing bike, British Engineering Excellence Awards gallery and EV-Blue electric iPad driven car from Potenza Technology.

Next year's Show will take place at the Ricoh Arena on 21st and 22nd October 2015. Tranter concluded: "I want thank all those who sponsored, exhibited and attended this year's Show and I look forward to seeing you all again at the Ricoh next year."
