The Manufacturing Technology Centre joins speaker line-up at EDS 2016

26 July 2016

The Manufacturing Technology Centre will be identifying the opportunities & challenges of additive manufacturing as part of a superb two-day conference programme at EDS at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on 19-20 October 2016.

‘Designing for the Freedom of Additive Manufacturing’ will be the subject for Senior Research Engineer Andrew Triantaphyllou in the Eureka Conference.

Additive Manufacturing is a niche manufacturing process that is already being used to make end-use parts in many industry sectors, but the challenge is how should you design for it? Andrew will give examples of when and why AM is a good choice of manufacturing method, and also the new mindset, workflow and software that is needed to design for it.

With a number of expected future developments in design for AM, Andrew will deliver a presentation from 11:15-12:00 on Wednesday 19th October on how and when AM can add value within your business models.

EDS combines the Engineering, Electronics and Embedded Design Show and will feature 22 conference sessions spread across aerospace, automotive, motorsport, electronics and more. The full conference programme will be announced shortly and will include exciting panel discussions, debates and stirring keynote speakers.
